PRIMORG URGES NIGERIANS TO EARNESTLY OBSERVE FG’S DIRECTIVES ON 14-DAYS LOCK DOWN

THE PROGRESSIVE IMPACT ORGANIZATION FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, PRIMORG, in carrying out part of its mandates to promote good governance among other responsibilities, joins the Federal Government in availing Nigerians with preventable measures to avoid contracting the Corona Virus, particularly in admonishing the public to earnestly observe the 14-days lock down as instructed by the government.

It will be keen here to reiterate that President Muhammadu Buhari recently announced the shutdown of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Lagos and Ogun States, with a view to containing the COVID-19 pandemic.

PRIMORG seconds the government’s directives on the cessation of all movements in the aforementioned states for an initial period of 14 days with effect from 11:00 p.m on Monday, March 30, 2020.

Therefore, all citizens in these areas are strongly advised to stay in their homes.

Also, as instructed by the government, citizens are further advised to postpone travels to or from other neighboring states.

To employers of labour and entrepreneurs, the directives to close all businesses and offices within the affected locations should be strongly observed, as PRIMORG has already followed in this footstep.

PRIMORG urges citizens to corporate with the government as they propose to utilize the containment period to identify, trace and isolate all individuals that have come into contact with confirmed cases.

Nigerians are to have fate in government as it promised to ensure the treatment of confirmed cases while restricting further spread of the virus to other States.

In the long list of pledges that PRIMORG requires the government to fulfill includes that which concerns the well being of the most vulnerable in our society.

 

PRIMORG is calling on the Buhari-led administration to release the conditional cash transfers for the next two months as it promised to immediately implement this plan.

To also immediately deploy relief materials to ease the pains of residents from the affected satellite and commuter towns and communities, including food rations for the internally displaced persons in the coming weeks.

Once again, Nigerians are urged to strictly adhere to the government’s directives on observing the 14-day lock down
